If you have more than one child, then you may also have some serious headaches when they fight over your computer. This is where Metronomos comes in. It lets you set up rules, to limit each individual to a certain amount of time on your computer. The application has been designed with ease of use in mind, so parents can set up their rules without any effort, even if they don't know much about computers.

The application is free to try, with some limitations. It is compatible with all popular Windows versions and it can be installed quickly and effortlessly. There is no need to install any prerequisite tools and you won't have to sacrifice too much disk space or memory.

Metronomos's functionality is fairly simple. The application works quietly in the background and it will automatically log out the current user, according to a timetable of your choice. A compact panel can be brought up on the screen by clicking the application's system tray icon. The panel displays the remaining time until the auto-log out, as well as options for showing the entire timetable and for accessing a set of administrative controls.

Obviously, the administrator's panel can be password-protected. While you are logged in as an admin, you can set up time limits for each user account on your computer. All you have to do is select an account and specify time periods, in which the user is allowed to stay logged onto your computer. Additionally, you can decide to allow or deny Internet usage during this time and limit the user to a total amount of time on that day.

Metronomos gives you the possibility of enforcing your computer-usage rules as fast and easily as possible.

Pros

You can limit the computer usage for each user account. The application lets you restrict them to a total number of hours and restrict the Internet usage.

Cons

There is no safety feature for accidentally locking yourself out. Once a user's time is up, it will be impossible to log back in, until the next allowed period.
